Kewarra Beach Resort has seven suites, and 68 bungalows known as mouds (the Islander word for small tropical house). Surrounded by tropical gardens, they are set beside a lagoon area. All bungalows have patios with tables and chairs. Construction and design utilises Australian timber and a tropical-inspired décor to reflect the natural surroundings. Recreation

Kewarra Beach Resort has a private beach and two freeform pools. The Kuda Meta swimming pool features a waterfall spa and a secluded cave, while a more secluded and intimate pool is located among the Deluxe bungalows. The resort’s sanctuary and garden provide opportunities for walking and bird watching.

Nearby recreational opportunities include hot air ballooning, sky diving, white water rafting, snorkelling, and scuba diving. Golf courses and tennis courts are within 5 km of the resort. Palm Cove and Cairns have several fitness centres and aerobics, Pilates, and yoga studios.

Covering 30 hectares, Kewarra Beach Resort is surrounded by a private wildlife sanctuary and botanic garden tended by a resident naturalist. The resort also has a private beach and two freeform pools. Other facilities include a guest laundry, and a library with a focus on books about local flora and fauna. High-speed Internet access is available in the lounge. The resort also offers complimentary transportation to Palm Cove and Cairns.

Schedules and directions (subject to change without notice): The resort provides complimentary airport transportation by prior arrangement. In order for the resort to arrange guest airport transportation, guests must provide an e-mail address and flight itinerary details in the Special Requests box when booking via this Web site. When selecting "Traveller and room preferences" during booking, guests must click the link that says: "I have a special request" and include airport transportation requests, along with a contact e-mail address, in the Special Requests box.

Driving directions from Cairns International Airport (CNS): After exiting the airport access road, turn right onto the Cook Highway and continue for approximately 15 km. Pass through eight roundabouts. Prior to the ninth roundabout, move into the right lane and take the exit to Kewarra Beach. Follow the road over a small roundabout and continue to the bottom of Poolwood Road. There the road takes a 90-degree turn to the left to the entrance to Kewarra Beach Resort.

Dining

Island Kings Restaurant - Tropical-style restaurant with thatched ceiling. Overlooks the gardens. Serves tropical buffet breakfast includiing fruit, pastries, and cereals. Full cooked breakfast also available. Open for lunch and dinner seven days with à la carte menu. Dinners on the resort’s private beach can also be arranged. Cocktail lounge - Open daily from late morning to late night.
