Hotel Information: The hotel, built in 1951, enjoys one of the best locations in the city looking straight on to Barcelona cathedral right in the city center. It is within easy walking distance of La Ramblas and, therefore, is a favorite with leisure travelers, especially couples and city breakers. The marble and hardwood lobby provides an atmosphere of peace and quiet and a haven from the hustle and bustle outside.
Amenity highlights: There are two meeting rooms at the hotel with capacities of 150 and 60 persons respectively. There is also the Catedral del Hotel Colon restaurant, which serves à la carte lunches and dinners.
Insider tip: There is a Christmas market every year in the square surrounding the cathedral. It draws in visitors from all over Spain with plenty of local specialties on sale and gift ideas for the festive period. Entry is free and it is open daily during December. In the warmer months there are live concerts and special events in the square.
