Hotel Information: Tierra del Sol Resort & Country Club, a Mediterranean-inspired resort, sits on 600 rolling acres of native bushes and cactus, which contrast dramatically with the lush green golf course. While golf is a principal attraction, many guests—primarily couples—choose the resort for its isolation, tranquility, and off-beach pricing.
Insider tip: Approximately 1 km (0.75 mi) from the resort, the California Lighthouse has stood at the island's northern tip since 1910. Although visitors are not permitted inside, the lighthouse is a popular attraction because of the surrounding moonlike landscape and the sweeping views of the Caribbean Sea from the hilltop.
Rooms
This Mediterranean-style, Aruban resort offers 111 one- and two-story privately owned villas. Each one- and two-story building contains two or four units. Villas are furnished according to owners' tastes. All include furnished balconies or patios with golf-course or island views. Fully equipped kitchens have four-burner ranges, microwave ovens, and dishwashers. Two TVs in each unit provide U.S./international cable channels.
Guests receive a welcome basket of coffee, tea, milk, sugar, wine, beer, soft drinks, cereal, crackers, cheese, and cookies. DVD players and VCRs are available for rent.

The pool complex comprises a 20-m (65-ft) irregularly shaped pool, a children’s pool, a rock waterfall, a 12-person spa tub, and sundecks with lounge chairs.
Designed by Robert Trent Jones II, Tierra del Sol Resort & Country Club's signature 18-hole desert-links championship golf course meanders amid marshes and native cactus. The par-71 course totals 6,811 yards in length and the highest tee is 98 feet above sea level with ocean views. A driving range and putting and chipping greens are available. The clubhouse contains a pro shop. Use of two lighted tennis courts is complimentary during the day, with a surcharge for play under the lights. Golf and tennis pros offer lessons for surcharges.
The sea-view, air-conditioned fitness center offers weight machines, cardio equipment, and free weights. Personal training is complimentary, based on availability. Yoga and aerobics classes (surcharges) are held on a padded sea-view deck.
Although the resort features panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea, approximately 500 m (547 yds) from the clubhouse, the shoreline does not include a beach. Waves sweeping in from the east make the water unsafe for swimming. However, guests have beach privileges, including lounge chairs and towels, at a resort on popular Palm Beach, 3 km (2 mi) away.
