Hotel Information: Brogues abound in the elegantly appointed, marble-tiled lobby of this two-year-old hotel. Many employees are from Ireland, which is where the O’Callaghan Hotel Group is based. The clientele predominantly comprises corporate travelers during the week, and a mix of vacation travelers, wedding parties, and Washingtonians escaping from the city for a romantic weekend.
Amenity highlights: O’Callaghan’s complimentary shuttle is available to ferry guests around downtown Annapolis, and to the U.S. Naval Academy, St. John’s College, the City Dock, a public swimming pool, and health club that guests can use for a fee.
Rooms
The dark-wood furniture in the 350-square-foot guestrooms of the O'Callaghan Annapolis Hotel was imported from Europe; some pieces were custom-made, as was the Irish wallpaper used throughout the bedrooms and baths. Leather easy chairs and tables stand next to windows overlooking the city. Fringed brocade drapes and velvet bedspreads in deep jewel tones give each of the 119 rooms a refined atmosphere.
In bathrooms, baskets of Lord & Mayfair toiletries rest on black-marble vanities beneath large, hammered-metal framed mirrors. Complimentary high-speed Internet access is available in more than half the rooms.
