Hotel Information: Hotel Arena occupies a building opened in 1890 as a Roman Catholic orphanage and later a youth hostel and arts centre attracting performers like Iggy Pop. Converted into a hotel in the 1990s, it blends original touches like oak floors and an ornamental staircase with contemporary elements like tall black and white curtains, fabric-draped chandeliers, and minimalist-style twig arrangements in floor vases. A youthful clientele is attracted by the nightclub and social scene.

Amenity highlights: Open Fridays and Saturdays until 4 AM, the hotel's nightclub ToNight occupies the building's cavernous former chapel that includes two bars and two wood dance floors and attracts locals and visitors from around the city with international DJ music and theme nights. The hotel's casual all-day restaurant bar ToDrink serves as a social centre for the neighbourhood, offering contemporary versions of traditional Dutch fare and international dishes.
