Hotel Information: Smart, caped doormen usher guests through a large revolving door into a bright spacious lobby clad in rippled granite and dominated by four pillars. Business guests, well-heeled leisure travellers and the occasional celebrity grace armchairs and sofas grouped around dark wood tables, illuminated by rows of ceiling spotlights and natural light from huge windows overlooking the garden and marina.
Amenity highlights: In winter months guests can sink into leather armchairs and warm up in front of the fire of the hotel bar overlooking the marina. During more temperate seasons the garden offers a canopied sun terrace and lawn, where guests and locals enjoy drinks and barbecues with views over the canal. Roberto’s Restaurant serves Italian dishes, fish and seafood specialities and Sunday brunches. Coffees, pastries and sandwiches are available in Issimo café.
Insider tip: Guests can order picnic baskets and hire bicycles from the hotel reception. It is just a short ride from the Hilton Amsterdam to the Vodelpark (one kilometre away), a peaceful expanse of green where Amsterdammers enjoy picnics accompanied by open-air concerts and theatre over the summer months.
