Hotel Information: Grey cobblestones wind through a small leafy garden to the main building where sliding doors lead to a simple modern lobby area. Uniformed staff at the wood-topped reception desk welcome guests, mostly comprising of leisure travellers and couples.
Amenity highlights: The hotel features a large bar where guests mix with locals to enjoy a game of pool or darts, or watch live sports events on the big screen television. The bar offers a selection drinks and snacks, including draft beers, traditional Dutch fried croquettes and light meals. A patio area opens during warmer months. Insider tip: The hotel is two kilometres from Vondelpark, Amsterdam’s largest park. During the summer there are free concerts at the park’s bandstand, and in June, July and August, theatre and music performances take place five days a week in the open-air theatre, located near the entrance from Eeghenstraat. Entry is free.

The HEM Hotel Amsterdam has 218 guestrooms, spread over four floors in three interconnecting buildings. Rooms on floors one and four offer more traditional style decor with chequered fabrics and blue colour scheme. Guestrooms on the second and third floors are decorated in a more contemporary fashion with modern, dark wood furnishings and earth tones.

Recreation
Guests can hire bicycles at the hotel to make the two-kilometre ride to Vondelpark, the largest and most popular city park in Amsterdam. It offers extensive cycle paths and plenty of grassy areas for picnics. The east gate also connects straight to the museum quarter.
