Across from the hotel are the Rijksmuseum, home of works by Rembrandt, Vermeer, and other masters, and the Van Gogh Museum, with a vast collection of Van Gogh paintings. Stained-glass windows, crystal chandeliers, art prints, warm burgundy carpets, and dark woodwork set the tone in the lobby and other public rooms.
Amenity highlights: The chic Wines & Bites bar overlooking a patio garden features wines by the half-bottle, along with small “bites” and a plat du jour. The room is decorated in black and white, with touches of red and chrome, a handsome wooden bar, and upholstered chairs.
