Getting around: A reasonable public bus service operates throughout the city from 6 AM to 11 PM. Travellers should have the correct change to pay the driver and there are separate seating sections for men and women on board; women usually sit at the front of the bus. In the older parts of Dubai Abras (small wooden motorboats) cross Dubai Creek from early morning until around midnight. Air-conditioned taxis are cheap, safe, and efficient, and can be hailed on the street or pre-booked by telephone.
