Visit the Basilica of St John the Baptist, the first Christian basilica built in the city and Rome's official cathedral. As well as spectacular Renaissance artwork, the basilica houses a collection of relics and papal artefacts in the museum. Finish with a tour of the catacombs, the resting place of nine popes.

From the 16th March 2008, this tour will also include a walk along the old Appian Way and the Thermes of Caracalla.
