Located in the sub-tropical region of Ecuador, the Mindo Cloudforest is home to butterflies, hummingbirds, and wild orchids. Explore this unique ecosystem via shuttle, foot, and inner tube!

Mariposas de Mindo
Your first stop is at the Mariposas de Mindo, a butterfly breeding farm that is home to over 25 species of butterflies. You’ll be amazed as they flutter around you in search of food. Pupas hatch almost every day, so keep an eye out as you wander about.

Hike and Mindo River adventure
After visiting the butterfly farm, it just an easy hike to the Mindo River. Along the way, you’ll see some of the exotic flora and fauna that are unique to this area. A lively romp down the Mindo River in inner tubes is sure to give you a different view of your stunning surroundings.

Lunch
Now that you’ve awakened your appetite with an exhilarating river ride, you’ll break for lunch at El Chef, a small local restaurant. After lunch, you’ll head higher into the cloudforest.

Sachatamia trail hike
This section of trail is surrounded by heliconaias, bromelias, and orchids. Coffee is served while you rest and observe hundreds of tiny hummingbirds flying all around. Then it’s time for the 2-hour drive back to Quito.

After you book your activity, follow these 3 easy steps:
