Loch Lomond, the Trossachs, and Stirling Castle
Although no “monsters” are rumored to live in Scotland’s largest loch, its bonnie scenery is sure to keep your attention. After time at the loch, head to Rob Roy country for a visit to Stirling Castle.
Travel along the length of Scotland's longest loch, Loch Lomond, in a luxury mini-coach. From Glasgow, you’ll drive to the picturesque village of Tarbet—located on the west side of the loch—where you can participate in an optional cruise for better viewing of the local woods and mountains, including the Trossachs (a small woodland glen). From Tarbet, you’ll make your way through spectacular scenery to Crianlarich, passing the pretty Falls of Falloch. Then it’s time for a lunch stop at Kilmahog, located in the heart of the Trossachs—an area noted for its picturesque scenery.
After lunch, head into the Rob Roy territories of Aberfoyle and Stirling. You’ll have a chance to actually visit the impressive Stirling Castle, built in the 12th century on the site of a Roman Fort. The castle sits high on volcanic rock, which makes it visible for miles around. Stories of William Wallace; Robert the Bruce, King of Scots; and Mary, Queen of Scots abound in these areas, and your guide will share them all!
You’ll also receive a Timberbush Pocket Pass that contains offers and discounts for food and beverages, clubs and bars, attractions, and shopping in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
