Ancient rock walls tower above as you boat along the Katherine River—located deep within the stone country of Nitmiluk National Park. Then you'll pass by historic Pine Creek for a glimpse of life in the rugged Outback.

Keep an eye out for prolific birdlife as you journey downriver through Katherine Gorge, where you’ll be steeped in the grandeur of this spectacular area. Tour via coach and cruising through waterfalls, a historic town, and ghostly reminders of WWII for a glimpse of the life, history, and landscape of this dramatic region of Australia.

Tour highlights include:

  • Heading south out of Darwin on the Stuart Highway
  • Endless Outback scrub and abandoned WWII air strips
  • Stopping for a break at the Adelaide River—try a light or cooked country breakfast (on your own)
  • A visit to the Adelaide River War Cemetery—a memorial for the Darwin air raids in the 1940s
  • Wallaby sighting
  • Historic Pine Creek’s railway station and town
  • A stop at Edith Falls, where there’s time for a swim in the waterhole below the falls (conditions permitting)
  • Touring the Outback township of Katherine—the third largest in the territory
  • A delicious buffet lunch at the Katherine Gorge Visitors’ Centre in Nitmiluk National Park

Redemption Details

After you book your activity, follow these 3 easy steps:
1. Print your voucher; locate the voucher in your travel confirmation e-mail or in the My Trips/My Itineraries link on the site.
2. Follow the redemption instructions on your voucher; it is critical to do this before you depart.
3. Take all vouchers with you; you must redeem one voucher per person.

Exchange your voucher for activity:
Reservation confirmation is required. Please contact Gray Line Darwin at least 24 hours prior to your preferred tour date to ensure reservation and arrange hotel pick-up location and time, if available. On the day of your tour, please arrive at the departure point at least 15 minutes prior to departure time. If hotel pick-up is available, plan to meet your tour guide in the lobby of your hotel at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled pick-up time. Please present your voucher to the guide in exchange for service.
